“The object isn’t to make art, it’s to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable.”
(Robert Henri)
Impressions from My Walks in Contemplative Photography
It all begins in silence. I accept the moment as it is, set out with a soft heart and sturdy equipment, ready to let myself be awakened. I immerse myself in the world of phenomena … and savor it. Sometimes, this gives rise to photography.
In my work, I can authentically express the world as I perceive it—immediate, uninterpretable… and in the end… indisputable. It is simple.
In perception, unlike in language and writing, there are no fixed concepts. Seeing what is, anew each time, becomes an adventure.
I understand my art as a receptive expression, a blend of seeing and bearing witness. What drives me, besides curiosity, is to appreciate the value of poetry in the tension with human perfection.
About Me
In my profession as a psychologist and hypnotherapist, I have accompanied people for nearly 30 years. My interest in human experience led me to pursue a wide range of continuing education. The experiences gained from these form a colorful bouquet, ranging from A for Authentic Movement to H for Holistic Dance, M for Meditation, P for Psychoanalysis, S for Self-Compassion and Writing, D for Deep Relaxation, and Y for Yoga in Trauma Therapy.
An author of novels (Gmeiner Verlag, Germany) and a nonfiction book on experiencing nature (“What We Can Learn from the Daisy,” 2007), Teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), graduate of a two-year training program in Contemplative Psychology (Karuna Training), with experience in Maitri Space Awareness and Miksang practice.
My latest research focuses on embodiment, in the spirit of the living connection between body, mind, and soul.
Holistic art brings me joy.
